Stop At: Potamies, Potamies, Crete

Starting from your hotel we head to “Potamies” an Authentic Cretan village.There we will make our first stop, in a traditional mitato where we will meet a local shepherd with his family. We will see how the cheese is made after first milking the milk from the goats and then we will learn how the flour is made in the traditional herromily. Those who wish can taste from the traditional products of the shepherd, such as cheese, raki and oil.

Then we will start our ascent using dirt roads, we will pass through the gorge Of “Ebassas”. The view of the imposing mountains and the wild beauty of nature will reward you. At the short stop, the guide will collect various local herbs (oregano, thyme, sage) as the Cretans used to do.

These stone structures fitted with white sails turned with the wind and drew water from the ground to irrigate the crops. During its heydays, Lasithi Plateau had over 10,000 windmills

Our next stop is on the Lassithi plateau where you will have free time for coffee or optionally to visit the impressive cave of Zeus (any drinks ,food and ticket to the cave not included).

We will follow a beautiful route enjoying impressive views, and passing through the monastery of Agia Anna we will stop at the Plateau Limnocanaro at an altitude of 1250m. From this point you can see all Lassithi and you will definitely take impressive photos, as the view will take your breath away.

Stop At: Ano Kera, Ano Kera, Crete

Immediately after we will enjoy delicious authentic food, baked in the wood oven in one of the best traditional taverns.

The last stop will be in the traditional village of Krasi, reaching the village square, one will see the three huge planees and Vryses dominate. Among them stands the largest and perennial plane tree aged 2400 years.
