Itinerary
The Etna Trail hiking excursion includes
5-6 hours of hiking on rugged routes, in a lunar landscape, accompanied by our private English-speaking guide.
On the day of the excursion, we will choose the difficulty according to your sporting level: between 300 and 1100 meters of vertical drop (from 1800 to maximum 2847 meters above sea level) and the walking distance: from 6 to 12 km (descent on volcanic sand ).
The difficulty of the route, the kilometers covered, the walking speed, the altitude difference, the maximum altitude and the precise route will be decided during the excursion, the guide aligns with the slowest participant.
Considering the current altitude limits allowed for volcano excursions, this north side excursion is the best choice to visit Etna (and climb as high as possible to Pizzi Deneri).
This excursion can arrive (depending on the sporting level of the participants and the weather / geodynamic conditions of Etna) at Pizzi Deneri, 2847 meters above sea level, at the foot of the imposing summit of Etna, the North-East crater .
